Just Published!

Just Got Published!  "Mermaid with Seahorse" was published this month in Bella Magazine.  This is a local magazine in Pensacola highlighting Local shops, Art, Fashion and Services.  I have also decided at this time to give 10 percent of my earnings to the Junior Humane Society which helps orphaned and abused animals.

Woman with Flamingos

This is latest painting with acrylics on wood.  I think it has an Art Deco feel to it.  Lots of layering with pastel colors!  As you can tell, I love flamingos!

Woman Waiting For Love

This is my newest painting called "Woman Waiting for Love." I think this has an Art Deco look and i gave it an antique look with the brown border. I also distressed the painting to have an aged look. I love the pastel colors!

Isn't this gorgeous??!! I want to do a painting with this in mind. So pretty with the pastel colors. Paris of course!

Oh! Some other notes about Paris. Yes, some of the Paris waiters, retail persons are rude. But there are many Parisians that are very accommodating and charming. I ran into one Parisian man in a bakery. He was waiting in line behind me and starting speaking French to me. Of course, with my bewildered look on my face, he quickly added in English, " You are not French are you"? then he added " Then why the hell are you here"? We both laughed. Very charming man.

Next, how the hell do all those French people look so damn good?! No, I mean it! Thin, well dressed, sophisticated! Gosh, I hate them! Just kidding. One of my good friends is French and I try to copy her dress style as much as possible. Got to accept reality, I am not a size 2!

Well, enough. Have to start painting.

Next, Paris! I know you have heard this before but the ART is unbelievable in Paris. Statues and Sculptures EVERYWHERE! It just amazes me the amount of talent and effort on all the buildings, inside the buildings..... just amazing.

Back then, I mean middle ages to the 19th century, the pace was slow and I believe your merit as an artist was the amount of time and effort you put into your pieces besides the amount of talent you had.

Today, our art is a reflection of our society..... zip, zip, zip! Everything is done in a hurry, hurry, hurry! If we as artists can zip out piece after piece as artists we are adored. If we as artists can take a quick brush stroke and turn that into genius, we are adored. Nothing wrong with either approach in my humble opinion.

Just Got Back from London and Paris!

O.K! Just got back from London and Paris and had a lovely time but I will say I loooooooove the United States! Makes me soooooo appreciative of the luxuries we have here! Enough said!
O.K! First of all, I have to have this car! We went to London first and I fell in love with the taxi! Yes I am weird but are not all artists weird??? Please someone tell me where I can buy a London taxi! They are so adorable on the outside as well as the inside.

Maiden on Flamingo

Maiden on Flamingo came about due to my looking at book after book on Paris. I looked at several books that dealt with antiques and home decor. The french use a lot of pale colors in their decorating style. I painted the edges with a soft tranlucent brown which gives the painting an aged look.

I will be visiting Paris soon and I am soooo excited. I know that the beautiful city will inspire me with lots of new ideas!
